The Saranac Inn Golf Club

Saranac Inn Golf Club opened in 1901 with six holes as part of the famous Saranac Inn Resort before expanding to 18 holes in 1910. Seymour Dunn, who designed many courses in the Adirondacks, was the architect. He said after designing over 300 courses in many parts of the world, Saranac Inn was his masterpiece. With four sets of tees from 6,600 yards from the back tees and 5,000 yards from the forward tees, the course is fun for all skill levels. Noted for its lightning fast and true greens, the classic Scottish design has a great mix of long, medium, and short par threes, fours and fives. The Saranac Inn Golf Club course is fully irrigated with bent grass greens and tees. Rated four-and-a-half stars by Golf Digest’s Places to play: “The best course in the Adirondacks is immaculately maintained with friendly service and spectacular greens, tees and fairways.

The Saranac Inn Club was recognized by Golf Digest as one of four U.S. courses 100 years or older that received four-and-a-half stars. This par 72 New York golf course has a reputation for extraordinary maintenace with fully automatic irrigation and bentgrass greens.

Seymour Dunn, the designer of the Saranac Inn course, would be proud if he could see his favorite course today. A state-of-the-art watering network, combined with the latest in maintenance techniques and equipment, keeps the course meticulously maintained. No details are overlooked to make the course par-excellent. In fact, one could almost practice putt on the bentgrass tees. This, combined with a rich variety of settings and the beautiful bluebirds and other wildlife, make for an enjoyable round of golf. Learn more.
