Whiteface Mountain Ski Resort

For a full day ski resort with all of the resort amenities, head over to Whiteface Mountain just a few minutes outside the Village of Lake Placid, and 20 minutes from Saranac Lake. The Olympic Mountain Whiteface features the highest vertical in the East, at 3,166 feet! Number 4 of the 46 high peaks, Whiteface Mountain hosts a variety of base lodges, dining and Apres ski, beginner to expert terrain, including glade skiing, the slides and a full snow sports school and park for the littlest skiers, along with a separate ski area for the kids too!

Whiteface also offers two terrain parks for though adrenaline junkies and an airbag set up for extra thrills.
