Echo Pond

For folks camping at Fish Creek Ponds Public Campground, Echo Pond can be a good place to visit. The small picturesque pond can offer a beautiful, short paddling trip and birders may be rewarded with a nice list of birds as an additional benefit. Species like Wood Duck and Great Blue Heron may be found along its forested edges, and the mixed forest is inhabited by many songbirds. Even if they don’t have a boat, birders can walk the short trail into the pond and they should look for species like Ovenbird, Hermit Thrush, American Redstart, and Yellow-rumped Warbler.
