Round the Mountain Canoe Race takes place in May (2007 date to be announced) at 11 a.m. The race is open to all solo and tandem canoes, guideboats, and kayaks. All participants must have a life jacket in the boat during the race.
Willard Hanmer Guideboat & Canoe Race takes place on the Sunday before July 4 on Lake Flower. The race starts at Riverfront Park.
Adirondack Canoe Classic - A three-day event from Old Forge to Saranac Lake--takes place the weekend after Labor Day. The Adirondack Canoe Classic is one of the most popular races in the country, attracting people from California to Florida. The competitors will cover 90 miles in three days. Along with the paddling and rowing, there are also several miles of carries (or portages) that the racers must negotiate. Tupper Lake Flat Water Weekend: 9 Mile ARC Interest and participation continues to grow with the Tupper Lake Flat Water Weekend canoe and kayak races. The races attract competitors from as far away as New Jersey and Vermont to compete in Saturday's nine mile, and Sunday's 40 mile events.
