SUMMER CONCERTS SERIES

The Chamber has two concert series: Thursday and Friday Nights, free and open to the public, our concerts are supported by a DCA grant from the Art Council for the Northern Adirondack(for the Fridays) and the Saranac Lake Area Chamber members.The financial support from our local businesses is essential to the success of our concert series, without them we could not enjoy those quality concerts for free twice a week every year in July and August!

All Thursday night shows are 6:30 p.m. at the Berkeley Green and all Friday night shows are at 7:00 p.m. at Riverside Park.

Harry Manx has been called an “essential link” between the music of East and West, creating musical short stories that wed the tradition of the Blues with the depth of classical Indian ragas. Friday, July 13: Elisa Korenne and friends

Thursday, August 2: Stony Creek Band

The band's distinctive blend of folk, country, and bluegrass grew from the humor, wry wit, and irony of those old men and women who sang songs and told us stories of the old days, and from their wistful but hard-edged sense of loss -- a range of emotions seemingly unavailable to the one-note sentimentality of the self-styled Adirondack gang. It is a direct link, a bridge of a single span, connecting the era of the cross-cut saw, the river drive, the kerosene lamp and wind-up Victrola, to that of the chainsaw, the Kevlar canoe, the satellite dish. In the intervening years, this fluctuating corps of more than twenty musicians, now including veteran drummer Mike Lomaestro, has continued to develop the contemporary Adirondack regional sound born in Stony Creek in 1973. Dan Berggren has been collecting, writing and singing folk music of the Adirondacks for the past 30 years. He grew up in the mountains on the land farmed by his mother's family and worked in the woods on a forest ranger's crew and a survey crew. Friday, August 17: Piquant!
Salsa, Rumba...All the Latin rhythms to make you dance! For more than three years, Piquant! Has been creating a unique sound in the North Country. Their music evokes a “Bistro” atmosphere with spicy flavors from Latin dance styles of Tango, Rumba, and Samba. They also explore the sweet tones of French Musette and add a touch of Swing.

Thursday August 23: Butterflysky
Singer-songwriters Greg Greer & Barb Nashold draw from a deep well of engaging and insightful originals, their soulful harmonies bursting with life. Theirs is a shape-shifting dance of joy, loss, healing, laughter, love and cultural connection. FOURTH OF JULY 2007 - RIVERSIDE PARK: This year we will enjoy the sound of Brass! Adirondack Brass will play at the Riverside Park on July 4th at 7pm. As Gregg Smith Singers retired we will have a taste of change this year, and we hope to see you there with your lawnchairs! Be Ready: Our unique LAWN CHAIR LADIES will come to give you a leading lift to the fireworks, make sure you have your lawn chair to follow them in rythm to the boatlaunch site!
