Codes of New York State -2002 Edition -Notice of adoption was published on July: 3,2002 for the following Codes:
Building Code of New York State
Fire Code of New York State
Residential Code of New York State
Property Maintenance Code of New York State
Mechanical of New York State York State
Plumbing Code of New York State
Fuel Gas Code of New York State
Energy Conservation Construction Code of New York State
This will allow for a transition period during which time building permit applications can be submitted under the CURRENT Uniform Code Provisions or the Codes of New York State. You can not mix and match current and new code versions.
The Transition period will end on December 31, 2002. On January 1, 2003 the Codes of New York State will be the only compliance option for building permit applications.
There is NO transition period for the Energy Conservation Construction Code - 2002 Edition. All projects submitted after July 2, 2002 must comply with the 2002 Edition.
