Bloomingdale Bog Trail

Bloomingdale Bog has a lot of unique features which make it a great backcountry skiing option. The trail is a former access road, so it is smooth, straight, and level as trails go. Even in winter, it teems with birds and wildlife, and the variety of terrain makes for a delightful ski.

The two entrances are:

The Bloomingdale Entrance follows Route 192 north from the four way stop in Bloomingdale, the village. At almost 2.0 miles look for parking on either side of the road.

The Route 86 Entrance can be reached through the intersection of Routes 3 and 86 in Saranac Lake. Follow Route 86 toward Paul Smiths, and after around 3.5 miles there is a dirt road on the right with a parking area.

3.8 miles, one way.
