Floodwood Loop Bike Trail

Beautiful pond scenery with Floodwood Pond, Polliwog Pond, Horseshoe Pond, Follensby Clear Pond, Little Square Pond, and Fish Creek.

This 7.7 mile loop has a difficulty level of Intermediate/Advanced.

Follow snowmobile trail south (single track.) At .1 mile there will be a canoe carry. Turn left. Another .2 mile later, turn right. Now a technical section with lots of exposed roots. Here we pass Polliwog Pond on the left and Horseshoe Pond on the right.

At 2.1 mile point, cross carry to Fish Creek from Follensby Clear Pond. After .8 miles, follow trail to right onto a paved road (Fish Creek Campsite) and then another right, onto a snowmobile trail to return to Floodwood Road. It continues along Fish Creek, passing Little Square Pond, with roughness from corduroy and exposed roots. About .5 mile from Little Square, the junction on the left joins Otter Hollow Trail across bridge. Now trail heads northeast around Floodwood Pond, crossing a wet drainage to join back with Floodwood Road (near west tip of Middle Pond.) Now turn right and ride .8 mile back to starting point.

CAUTION: Difficult in wet weather.

Find the Trailhead: At Saranac Inn on NY 30 (near the golf course) take Floodwood Road. After the junction of Hoel Pond Road, at the 1.8 mile point, look for snowmobile trail markers on the left side.
