McMasters Crossing

This stretch of scenic meadow and forest is 3.5 miles long and can comprise a 12.5 mile loop using Forest Home Road and State Routes 186 and 30.

Length: 12.5 miles with 285 feet of climb.

Directions: Starting from Lake Clear Junction — the intersection of Routes 186 and 30 — head west on Route 30 for 8.2 miles, then turn south on Forest Home Road for 3.7 miles. This is the area of greatest climb, with 180 feet along this stretch.

Turn northeast on McMasters Road (Route 50) for a flat cruise through many meadows. Look for water crossings with Fish Creek and Twobridge Brook for more scenic beauty. Route 50 ends at a secondary road, only 0.1 mile from Route 186 if you turn north. Head west again on Route 186 to return to Lake Clear Junction.
