The gorgeous creations will delight residents and visitors who can vote for their favorite beginning December 1st — the night of the Downtown Tree Lighting. Our official Judges panel will select the winning window - based on popular vote and overall impact.
Note from Downtown Advisory Board:
Welcome the holiday season spirit with the Downtown Advisory Board, village merchants and businesses with a holiday tree lighting ceremony at Berkeley Green on Friday, December 1st at 5:30 p.m. This year 30 businesses, residents, and property owners in the Downtown district contributed to purchase and place trees, lights, and planters around town – an outward expression of the community spirit so important to the village. The lights will help the village glow all the way through the end of Winter Carnival in February.
In addition to the December 1st lighting ceremony, the Northern Lights Choir will lead holiday caroling, and ‘Everybody’s Dad’ Lonnie Ford will read a family story or two. There will be free hot chocolate and cookies.
This year, businesses throughout downtown Saranac Lake are decorating their storefronts with bright lights and window displays; the public is invited to cast votes for their favorites. A ballot box will be placed in Berkeley Green from December 1st through the 11th. On December 12th, the Downtown Advisory Board (DAB) will announce the Holiday Decoration Winner during its Annual Mixer at the Fiddlehead Bistro. (The mixer runs from 5 pm – 6:30 pm with a “not to be forgotten” trophy awarded for best storefront.)
