Cool Beginnings, Flourishing Future
Come celebrate the 20th anniversary of Third Thursday Art Walks! The Art Walks, held annually from June through September, started in 1999 as a way to help revitalize downtown Saranac Lake by drawing attention to our creative community and its historic downtown. Saranac Lake revitalization efforts started in 1994 and the arts since that year have been instrumental in branding this town as an arts community. The Art Walks have played a major role in this endeavor.
One of the core advantages of the Art Walks is to bring the visual, literary, and performing arts to the community and visitors alike in a family-friendly atmosphere by having participants bring their talents on to the sidewalks to create a party atmosphere. One can hear music while viewing artwork ranging from children's pieces to amateur to the professional.
