Black Pond

Reclaimed in 1997, this 73-acre pond is home to the brook trout, a wild population that is augmented by stocks by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. The pond, connected to Lower St. Regis Lake, is 45 feet at its deepest and averages about 20 feet.

It’s accessible by a hand boat launch at the end of Keese Mill Road, 2.5 miles west of the intersection of Keese Mill Road and NYS Route 30, and there is room for about a half-dozen cars. There is also a handicapped accessible parking area with a path to a small dock.
