Along the northern end of Blue Mountain Road, Azure Mountain is worth the short, steep climb for the view alone. The fact that it can offer good birding is a bonus to adventurous birders and the trail takes them through deciduous forest for much of the way. Species like Red-eyed and Blue-headed Vireos, Blackburnian Warblers, and Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers can all be found. The terrific view at the summit offers birders an unofficial hawk watching post during the fall as birders search for raptors moving south.
