Part of Middle Saranac Lake, which is a popular boating destination with abundant small islands for exploration.
The beach and picnic area is popular because of the expanse of the sand. There's a very shallow approach to the beach from the water which makes it ideal for swimming and wading. It offers easy access by land along a hiking route that is only a bit over a mile, round trip.
There is a public hand launch on the south shore, near South Creek.
