Black Pond

This small pond is reached from roadside and along the narrows leading into the St. Regis Lakes. Paddle north through the narrow to reach some interesting water features including a small keyhole pond on the opposite side of a footbridge. Two lean-tos are located on the shores of the pond, one on the east and one on the west.

How to get there:

From the intersection of Route 3 and Route 86 in Saranac Lake follow Route 86 toward Paul Smiths. Continue on Route 86 to Route 30 in Paul Smiths. Take a right onto Route 30 and an immediate left onto Keese Mill Road. Follow this down to the parking area for St. Regis Mountain on the left and park here.
