Dewey Mountain Recreation Center

Dewey Mountain is one of Saranac Lake’s village recreational centers, open to everyone.

It has Adirondack cross country and snowshoeing trails for all levels of skill.

You will find plenty of family fun at Dewey!

Thirteen is your lucky number. That’s how many kilometers of trail Dewey grooms all winter.

Classic skiing
Skate skiing
Night skiing on lit trails

The upper trails let you indulge your “wild side.” They feature ungroomed, backcountry, trails in the beautiful forest. They extend to the very top of the mountain, for 440 feet of vertical drop.

There’s four kilometers of snowshoe trail. It winds to the top of Dewey for an extravagant view of the Saranac Chain of Lakes, then descends along the west side of the mountain.

This trail is laid out for easy climbing, using classic inclined planes at the tougher parts, like the east side of the mountain.

Does your best friend want to come? Dogs are welcome on all snowshoe trails.

On Wednesdays, they can visit the ski trails, too. Good boy!

Day passes are $5 each, and there’s half-day or full-day rentals for snowshoes and ski equipment. Children under 5 are free.

There’s plentiful occasions for even more savings:

Free Ski Rental nights
Free Family Days
Free Friday Nights

Graymont Tuesday Night Ski Race Series
Snowshoeing races throughout the year
Friday Night Ski Jams with local, live, music & food
Adirondack Youth Paintball Biathlon

Whether you are an old hand looking for a new sensation, or a beginner wanting to experience the best of winter, Dewey Mountain wants to make your snow dreams come true.
