Lake Flower to Kiwassa Lake

This is a lovely paddle, about three hours round trip, for a distance of 5 miles.

Launch from the downtown boat launch to the opposite shore, follow the shoreline, and enjoy the interesting architecture of many stately homes. Then round the Point, opposite a beautiful lagoon where herons have been spotted.

Pass many islands, such as Honeymoon Island (only one place of habitation) and the rugged, rocky bluffs that rise from the lake. Pass through the tranquility of Oseetah Lake and follow the narrow channel to Kiwassa Lake, with its picturesque shoreline. Half of this is state land, but please respect the private property.

After that, pick the opposite shore to paddle along. Be careful crossing the marked boat channel, as this is for motor boats. There are many side trips possible in the wetlands, so pack a lunch and turn this morning paddle into an all day exploration!
