Mountain Pond

This sheltered pond is a great choice for a relaxing, scenic paddle. The mountain on its shores has interesting rock formations and many small bays for adventure. There are herd paths up the mountain to open rock areas with overlooks, but take extra care as there is no trail and loose rocks can be dangerous.

Access

Take Route 86 north to its intersection with Route 30 at Paul Smith's College. Follow Route 30 north to the Mountain Pond turnoff on the right. The road continues along the west shore of the pond.

The launches here are sandy and rocky.
