Polliwog Pond and Little Polliwog Pond

The Polliwog Ponds are part of the Saranac Lakes Wild Forest area. A sandy put-in, a handy island, a secluded bay, and a beaver dam are just a few of the attractions in this lovely set of ponds.

A popular spot for seeing loons.

The southwest corner has the short carry trail to Little Poliwog, less than 1/10th of a mile. There is a wonderful bog garden there with laurel, pitcher plants, rose pogonia, and water lilies.
