Slush Pond

A sweet little pond, flat and calm. accessed from roadside. It is only 0.4 miles across, but is packed with interest.

The marsh areas are full of birds, drawn by the fishing (which can draw anglers, too.) There is a narrows for more great paddling and even more privacy.

There are camping areas along Slush Pond Road.

Launching Point:

Take Route 30 south from Malone. After passing Paul Smiths College, go another 3.75 miles to Slush Pond Road on the right. Go down this dirt road for another 0.6 miles to the unsigned trailhead on the left, where there is room for one car on either side of the road. This conditions are best for cat top boats.
