'ROUND THE MOUNTAIN 2002 RESULTS

Results

Race Sponsors - The Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, The Adirondack Arc, Grasse River Boatworks, MAC'S Canoe Livery, Cold River Coffee Company, North Country Natural Spring water and Special thanks to Grace McDonnell for pre race administration, the Tri Lakes Amateur Radio Club for communication assistance, The Saranac Lake Village Police, and the volunteers who assisted with registration, timing, and safety out on the course.

'Round the Mountain is the second event in the Adirondack Arc Canoe Race Series hosted by the Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, the Tupper Lake Chamber of Commerce and MAC'S Canoe Livery in Lake Clear. Other races include: June 15 & 16 The Tupper Lake Flat water Weekend (9 mile NYMCRA points race on Saturday, 40 mile marathon on Sunday) Also lots of fun races and events at the No Octane Regatta in Blue Mountain Lake. July 7 - The Hanmer Guideboat & Canoe Races in Saranac Lake, August 11 - The 30 mile Adirondack Arc Marathon to Tupper Lake. September 6,7&8 The 90 mile Adirondack Canoe Classic from Old Forge to Saranac Lake. The Adirondack Arc is the lead sponsor of the series. The Arc is a non - profit grass roots organization that enriches the lives of people with developmental disabilities. People from the Arc community are involved in all aspects of the race series. Every time you enter one of the Adirondack Arc canoe race series events you will receive a ticket for a chance to win a We no nah 17 foot Royalex Sundowner Canoe donated by We no nah, 2 bent shaft canoe paddles donated by Camp Paddles of Bainbridge, and 2 lifejackets donated by MAC'S Canoe livery in Lake Clear. Additional tickets can be purchased at the canoe races. The Grand prize drawing will take place at the post race activities of the Adirondack Canoe Classic in Saranac Lake on Sunday, September 8. Donations benefit the positive programs of the Adirondack Arc.

The race was organized by the Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, McDONNELL'S ADIRONDACK CHALLENGES of Lake Clear, and race series sponsor, Franklin County ARC, The Adirondack Arc.
