Celebrate Paddling Invitational

A new format for paddlesports competition on Lake Flower. 

There will be 1-mile, 3-mile and 10-mile courses for all human-powered craft and individual abilities. There will be youth and novice events, several Voyageur canoe challenges on a 1-mile course. We will have the Voyageur canoe, you bring or join a team! 

Canoe, kayak, guideboat, SUP races on a 10-mile course out to Oseetah Lake. No carries. The course will include two 1,000 meter timed sprints for special prizes – a race within a race. 

There will be also be marathon Canoe, Kayak, Guide boat, SUP races on a 10 mile course out to Oseetah Lake and back with no carries.  To make it more spectator friendly organizers plan to feature 2- 500 meter timed sprints for special prizes – a race within a race, one near the beginning and one near the end of the marathon.


9 AM - Vendor Set up 

9 AM - Registration opens

9:30 AM - Boat Demos and Buy Sell Trade Area opens

10 AM - Youth Canoe and Kayak Races on triangle course on Lake Flower

Followed by; Adult / Youth, and Novice Canoe, Kayak and Guide Boat 3 mile race looping around Lake Flower

Followed by; War Canoe Sprints on triangle course on Lake Flower.  We will have some War Canoes available for teams on site.  Based on sign up, we can have more than one heat.  Teams of 6 – 8 people, families, friends, business, and civic organizations are welcome.  Watch for a team organized by Saranac Lake Mayor Clyde Rabideau ready to take on all comers!  

11AM  - 10 mile Marathon for Canoes, Guide boats, Kayaks SUPs and War Canoes out to Lake Oseetah and back. There will be two 1000 meter sprints built into the course for extra excitement and crowd enjoyment with prizes from several local businesses!

During the Marathon - There will be a Stand Up Paddle Board turn course set up and war canoe rides available for spectators.

2 PM - Awards and prizes furnished by a number of local businesses.

Entry Fees

10 Mile Marathon: $25 per paddler

3 Mile Youth and Family event: $10 per teen or adult

Voyageur Canoe Sprints: $10 per person / We provide the boats and paddles!

SUP Turn Course: $10

Voyageur Canoe Rides: $10

All paid entries receive a ticket for a local merchant raffle at the awards ceremonies.

All youth racers under 12 free.

Celebrate Paddling

Celebrate Paddling ADK is a month-long festival organized by several area outfitters and the Northern Forest Canoe Trail to show case the multiple paddle sport activities available in the greater Saranac Lakes Region. Adirondack Lakes and Trails, Mac's Canoe Livery, Raquette River Outfitters and St. Regis Canoe Outfitters are collaborating to offer events, guided tours, instruction, lectures and historical discussions at local establishments, a river cleanup, and paddling activities on nearby waters every day in June.   Visit for a schedule.
