Great Films Series - We’ll be showing Inherit The Wind a 1960 film directed by Stanley Kramer and starring Spencer Tracy, Fredric March, and Gene Kelly. The film is based on the 1925 “Monkey” trial wherein a small town school teacher is brought to court for teaching the theory of evolution. The film was made in response to McCarthyism and the effect it had on intellectual discourse in that era. The film will be shown Tuesday Mar. 26 at 2pm in the Cantwell Room of the Saranac Lake Free Library, 109 Main Street.
