Mt. Van Hoevenberg is now open for the 2020/2021 season.

We are happy to announce that the Lake Placid Nordic Center at Mt. Van Hoevenberg is open. We are eager to welcome you to our updated venue, and to test out our brand-new groomed trail system! We are looking forward to a healthy, safe, and fun-filled winter at Mt. Van Hoevenberg.

World class skiing in the Adirondacks

The Cross Country and Biathlon trails at Mt. Van Hoevenberg opened for the 1980 Olympic Games and has held its place as a world class destination in Nordic Sports. We have 55 km of trails that are groomed to perfection every day of the week. Our professional staff treats each day as if we are both hosting the Olympic Games and welcoming you in for a cozy chat.

You will have plenty of opportunities no matter your ability. We regularly stage major national and international skiing events, yet first-time and recreational skiers are our daily priority. We have trails and experiences that exceed the expectations of world class athletes, fitness lovers, recreational visitors, outdoor enthusiasts and those new to our sport. Nordic terrain parks, toasty bonfires, Josie’s destination ski cabin, and our warm and friendly lodge will make world class memories!

Cross Country Ski Trails

The Olympic Cross Country ski trails of Mt. Van Hoevenberg have delighted individuals, couples and families for over 35 years. Constant trail upgrades and world class grooming on 55 km of rolling Adirondack terrain have been the hallmark of our Olympic legacy. Skiers have always found trails fit for the Olympian inside them, no matter their ability. Step into a pair of skis or snowshoes, breathe in the fresh, crisp air and follow our meticulously groomed trails through the snowy woods. Through the forest, follow the trails that have led athletes, like local Bill Demong (Gold and Silver Medalist in the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games) to Olympic glory.
