Join authors Constance J. Moore and Nancy M. Broermann as they share about the subject of and research process for their newly-published book, “Maria Longworth Storer: from Music and Art to Popes and Presidents.” Maria Longworth Storer was the founder of Rookwood Pottery in Ohio, and her son, Dr. Joseph Nichols, came to Saranac Lake for the cure and served as President of the Saranac Lake General Hospital. Moore and Broermann will present fascinating information about the Nichols family's history with TB. This very special event will include a presentation, book signing, and behind-the-scenes house tour of Highland Manor on Park Avenue, which was the Nichols’ home in Saranac Lake. This event is $20/person to benefit Historic Saranac Lake and includes refreshments. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing. This event will begin in the John Black Room at the Saranac Laboratory Museum, and conclude at Highland Manor. RSVPs are required for this event, and spaces are limited. RSVP by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 518-891-4606.
