Peaceful green space

Simple Scenery

Saranac Lake has an extraordinary park system for such a small village. There’s an amazing band of volunteers who have kept our parks, plantings, and thoroughfares in wonderful shape since 1910. Our parks were brought into being by working from a plan by the same firm which designed Central Park in New York City.

There’s an herb garden, an arboretum, a rose garden, and a Main Street parklette. From long meandering strolls to a bench under a tree, we have gardens that will relax and refresh!

Take a walk

They say the best way to know a place is to walk it. So don’t just stand there! Put on some comfortable shoes and grab some trail mix — the Saranac Lake area is ready to charm you with its effortless beauty. All at the comfort of your own pace, of course.

In Saranac Lake you are encouraged to breathe in the fresh mountain air and immerse yourself in nature. Whether it's sitting in one of the many village parks or strolling along an interpretive trail — there are adventures to be had!

Leave No Trace and Love Your ADK Pledge

The magic of the Adirondacks is the result of previous generations taking a long view and protecting the mountains, lakes, and rivers within the Blue Line. That tradition continues today as we support and encourage everyone to practice Leave No Trace ethics, which help protect the lands and waters of the Adirondacks.
