Take a cool Adirondack art community with talented artists, add some holiday cheer and you get a festive art attraction. New this season from November 22nd - December 28th, BluSeed Studios is bringing Saranac Lake a trendy twist on the craft fair. Dubbed the “Starving Artist Exhibit and Sale,” local artists will be presenting a range of new work on sale for the holidays. This month-long event kicks off Friday, November 22nd with a special opening reception from 6-8pm.

Well known artists will present their wares alongside local up and coming. Each artist gets 3-feet of wall space from floor to ceiling to display their pieces. All art will be enticingly priced at $100 or less.

I spoke with Michelle Hannan, Office Manager at BluSeed Studios for details. The work on display will cover a wide range of artistic media including acrylic and watercolor paintings, photography, pastels, charcoal drawings, prints, pottery and ceramics, clay and mixed media, hand blown glass, fiber art, handmade paper, polymer clay, sterling silver and semi-precious stones. Along with a host of local artists, the Paul Smiths College and North Country Community College Art Clubs will be selling art to benefit their respective organizations, and Carmen Ordonez will offer photograph cards to benefit the local food pantry.

The event connects art to the community and visitors, at great prices, just in time for the holidays. Come to see the art and delight in the opportunity to purchase exceptional gifts at great prices, all while supporting local artists.

BluSeed Studios is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide space where artists have the opportunity to experiment, diverge, exhibit and perform; to move ideas and aesthetics forward; to share this diversity with the community.

Come visit them in their downtown Saranac Lake location at 24 Cedar Street. Gallery Hours: 1pm – 5pm Monday through Friday, Saturday 10am – 5pm, or by appointment; with the Special Opening Reception: 6pm-8pm Friday, November 22nd.
