A cool scene
Summer in Saranac Lake is a festival in itself. The village has created a seemingly endless stream of events and happenings in the parks, on the water, and in the Historic Downtown area. Celebrating the arts, recreation, health & wellness, history, the great outdoors and the seasonal beauty and rugged landscape of the region are high on the agenda of this historic Adirondack village.
Cultural events in Saranac Lake are numerous as the Village has become the hub of arts for the entire region. Art galleries abound and the village is filled with a large population of well-known Adirondack artists whose works are celebrated at many events throughout the season. Historic talks and art openings help round out cultural offerings, and Pendragon Theatre offers a full schedule of performances throughout the summer months.
Join in at the Paul Smith’s Visitor Interpretive Center (VIC) for the seasonal Teddy Roosevelt Bird Walks, held throughout the summer. The VIC also offers a wide range of programming events, children's activities and nature walks. In June, the VIC hosts the Great Adirondack Birding Celebration, a three-day celebration of one of the region’s most valuable natural assets.
Weekly farmers markets fill the village and surrounding towns with local farm and craft products from June to September.
