What to Do in Saranac Lake
There is no limit!

Saranac Lake is always cool

If you're looking for the coolest events and endless opportunities for outdoor recreation, you've come to the right place. In Saranac Lake, we take cool to another level.

There's something going on every week in Saranac Lake, so check out our events calendar, or simply take a stroll though our funky downtown. You'll find artists at work, musicians at play, and plenty of options for food and shopping

It's always a cool time to take a hike! Start right in town with the easy, 0.9-mile hike to the summit of Baker Mountain and enjoy sweeping views of the Adirondack High Peaks. If you want more, take on the rest of the Saranac Lake 6ers. There are six mountains, including Baker, in the Saranac Lake region that need to be climbed to earn the 6er patch. Take the challenge!

Getting out in nature in the Saranac Lake Region doesn't always mean gaining elevation. Take the short drive to the Paul Smith's College VIC and explore the many forests and wetlands on the property. With 25 miles of trails, there's a lot of ground to cover!

If skis are your thing, you can head to Mt Pisgah to get vertical or check out Dewey Mountain for top-notch cross-country ski trails.

Dine out at one of our many restaurants, or sample the good stuff at our local brewery. Wake up to an Adirondack breakfast with real maple syrup for those flapjacks, and end the day by discovering our nightlife, which often has live music.
