Every season is Art Season in Saranac Lake . Spend a day hiking, skiing or shopping, sample one of our fine restaurants, then attend an art gallery opening, a workshop, or live performance . Art works in Saranac Lake! Multiple art galleries, Third Thursday ArtWalks in the summer, Pendragon Theatre and Bluseed Studios provide numerous venues to experience art at its best.

Saranac Lake also celebrates the arts with events like First Night, Winter Carnival, the Cabin Fever Film Festival, the Arts & Heritage Festival, the Adirondack Plein Air Festival and HoboFest. The Artist at Work Studio brings visitors right into the artists' workspaces.  For more information about art events and a complete calendar, visit Saranac Lake ArtWorks.

Theatre

Pendragon Theatre is the only year-round theatre in the Adirondack Park. This professional theatre brings award-winning live performances to Saranac Lake and enjoys a great following.

Music

Music flourishes in Saranac Lake! From "Open Mic" sessions and live music in many different venues, to concerts in our magnificent and historical Town of Harrietstown Auditorium, there is always music to be found. The Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce brings music to the park in its annual Summer Concert Series, which kicks off on July 4th.

Local History

History buffs will enjoy walking tours led by Historic Saranac Lake, visiting the Robert Louis Stevenson Cottage, renowned author of Treasure Island, the Bela Bartok cabin, exploring the "Adirondack Room" in the Saranac Lake Free Library, or walking the grounds of The White Pine Camp, where Calvin Cooledge had his summer white house. Less than an hour away is the Adirondack Museum at Blue Lake, what a great place to spend the day with family!
