The great indoors
Come for the outdoor activities, stay for the indoor relaxation. Whether you're into spending a rainy afternoon trying a flight of craft brews or pairing a fine ale with artisan food, the Saranac Lake region has a number of great destinations.
Saranac Lake bars and lounges
Downtown, The Waterhole is a local legend. For a quieter scene, check out the Great Hall Bar down the street at Hotel Saranac, where the 1920s origins of the hotel are celebrated with inspired craft cocktails. Try a Mary Pickford and the charcuterie, a selection of local artisan cheeses.
Saranac Lake breweries
For another taste of the local flavor, visit Blue Line Brewery, which crafts Adirondack-inspired beer and doubles as a family-friendly restaurant with a full menu. Intriguing new spots are always popping up, too, including Hex & Hop in Bloomingdale and the Ray Brook Brewhouse. Both serve their own handcrafted brews, which they put a lot of thought and care into. Saranac Lake might not be the craft beer capital of New York yet, but it's well on its way.
