Saranac Lake Central School District has approximately ~1,000 students in grades K-12th. Saranac Lake High School has been identified as one of the best high schools in both the country and NY state. In NY the SLCSD ranked 212 out of 598 districts. This ranking has earned us US News and World Reports' silver medal.

The High School building presently houses grades 9th-12th. 

Petrova Elementary School was built in 1924 with additions in 1936, 1969, and 1996. Presently the building houses grades K-8th. 

Bloomingdale Elementary School was built in 1967-68 as a 23,000 square foot elementary school. Presently the building houses grades Prek- 2nd.
