About

Friends of Moody Pond 7th Annual Online Auction & Ice Cream Social!

Since 2020, Friends of Moody Pond (FMP) members have organized an online auction each year, showcasing items and gift certificates from local businesses and artists. It’s a fun way to engage in our fundraising efforts.

The 7th Annual Online Auction begins on Saturday, July 11th, at www.32auctions.com/MoodyPond2026 and concludes at our 7th Annual Ice Cream Social Celebration on Moody Pond on Saturday, August 1st, 331 Forest Hill Ave., from 4 PM to 7 PM.

There will be live music, magic, and ice cream. We’ll also have the Upper Saranac Foundation (USF) Invasive Species Divers on hand to demonstrate their equipment and discuss the invasive species, Eurasian watermilfoil (EWM), in Moody Pond. Representatives from the Adirondack Park Invasive Plant Program (APIPP), and the Adirondack Watershed Institute will be on hand

Attendees can view items and participate in the silent online auction, so be sure to bring your cell phone. 100% of all proceeds from this event are used to remove the EWM, from the pond. As a thank you to the community for your support in preserving and protecting the pond, the ice cream social is free, family-friendly, and dog-friendly.

Just over seven years ago, after discovering invasive Eurasian watermilfoil (EWM) in Moody Pond, the non-profit Friends of Moody Pond (FMP) was formed. Thanks to donations, grants, and community participation in our fundraising events, FMP has been able to hire USF’s professional divers to hand-harvest and remove more than 1000 pounds of the aquatic invasive species from the pond. They’ll be at the ice cream social demonstrating their equipment and discussing the invasive species, Eurasian watermilfoil (EWM), in Moody Pond. Representatives from the Adirondack Park Invasive Plant Program (APIPP), and the Adirondack Watershed Institute will also be there. It’s quite a relaxed educational experience.

The Friends of Moody Pond remains determined to eradicate the EWM and restore the pond to the sparkling, pristine water body it’s been for generations.

Reflect; Restore; Celebrate; Moody Pond.
