Experience a whimsical outdoor art adventure at TROLLS: Save the Humans at The Wild Center. Six giant, folklore-inspired troll sculptures, created by Danish recycle artist Thomas Dambo, are hidden along the Center’s outdoor trails. Built from reclaimed materials, these larger-than-life trolls inspire visitors of all ages to rediscover nature, embrace sustainability, and rethink how we interact with our environment.
Blending art, storytelling, and environmental stewardship, this outdoor exhibition invites exploration, creativity, and connection in a one-of-a-kind Adirondack setting.

Adirondack Troll Adventure
Looking to continue the adventure beyond The Wild Center? Visitors can also take part in the Adirondack Troll Adventure, an interactive digital scavenger hunt happening throughout the Tupper Lake region. Inspired by the giant troll sculptures created by Thomas Dambo, smaller hidden trolls can be discovered at participating local businesses, shops, restaurants, and attractions. Participants can follow a digital passport map, check in at Troll Stops, and explore more of the community while unlocking fun surprises along the way. Know before you go: TROLLS: Save the Humans
The response to TROLLS: Save the Humans has been incredible, and The Wild Center is welcoming some of the highest visitation in its history. We can't wait to welcome you! Here are a few tips to help make the most of your visit.
Expect lines during peak times. Weekends and late mornings through early afternoons are the busiest, so you may experience waits at admissions and along the trails to the troll sculptures. Please allow a little extra time in your schedule.
Visit later in the day or on a weekday. Crowds are typically lighter in the afternoons and during the week. During July and August, The Wild Center is open until 7:00 p.m., giving you even more time to explore while avoiding the busiest hours.
Parking: On non-school days, once the main and meadow parking lots are full, overflow parking is available at LP Quinn Elementary School (294 Hosley Avenue). Follow posted signs and directions from staff as you arrive.
