Hiking safely during hunting season
Hiking during the fall season is a magical time to catch colorful foliage and enjoy the trails. However, it is important to be aware that hunting season also takes place during this time across the Adirondacks. To ensure everyone’s safety, stay alert and wear blaze-orange clothing. Recreate responsibly
It is important to remember to show love and care for this amazing natural wonderland. Going on an all-day adventure? Remember to pack the right gear. Going somewhere new? Prepare by doing plenty of research before you go, and familiarize yourself with the map and weather. This is the perfect time to learn about Leave No Trace and take the Love Your ADK pledge. You can help preserve our wild spaces for generations.
Transportation and parking
Important information
The Village of Saranac Lake follows a seasonal parking schedule. November 15th - April 15th. During the parking ban, ALL vehicles must be parked off the street from 2 am to 6 am.
