Canoeing for Kids

Date: June 27, 2026
Time: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Cost: $25 per child

Give your kids a fun and engaging half day on the water while you enjoy some free time of your own. This youth-focused canoe program uses a games-based approach to introduce paddling in a safe, supportive environment.

Participants will learn the basics of canoeing, build confidence on the water, and develop boat control skills through interactive activities. Depending on the group, kids may also be introduced to simple canoe rescue techniques.

This program is led by experienced instructor Matt, who has years of experience teaching youth canoeing programs, including work with the Saranac Lake Central School District.

A portion of each registration supports a local cause—50% of course fees will be donated to the Saranac Lake Youth Center.

What kids will learn:

  • Basic canoe paddling skills

  • Boat control through games and activities

  • Water confidence and safety awareness

  • Introductory rescue skills (as appropriate)
