Take your paddling skills beyond flatwater in this introductory moving water class designed for confident lake paddlers ready for a new challenge.

This course focuses on building a strong foundation for river travel, helping you gain control, awareness, and comfort in current. You’ll practice essential skills that open the door to new adventures and make your paddling more adaptable in all environments.

What you’ll learn:

• Catching eddies

• Entering and exiting current

• Navigating simple river features

• Basic boat control in moving water
  

This course can be taken in a canoe or kayak, solo or tandem.

A portion of each registration supports a local cause—50% of course fees will be donated to the Adirondack Diversity Initiative.
