Paddling 101

Join Nick Brewer (VIC Steward/Guide) for a 4-hour course to learn the basics of paddling! In this course, you will learn everything from the parts of the canoe and associated gear, different strokes and paddling techniques, rescue techniques and more.

Important Notes for the Course:  -Participants are responsible for their own clothing, wetsuits and/or swimsuits, shoes that can get wet, and dry bags are encouraged. Expect to get wet and be in the water towards the end of the training for rescue techniques.

-Participants will also need to bring their own lunches/water, sunscreen, bug spray, hats and sunglasses.

-The VIC will provide canoes, life vests, paddles, dry bags and instruction.

PARKING LOCATION: https://maps.app.goo.gl/BdFuYZpERnUvmiYk7, you will then follow the sidewalk down to the lake, and meet at the canoe dock.
