The ‘Round the Mountain Canoe & Kayak Race is an Adirondack favorite, taking place annually on the second Saturday of May — the unofficial kickoff event of the Adirondack paddling season!
The first installment in our Adirondack Race Series, the 'Round the Mountain Canoe & Kayak Race takes place Saturday, May 13, in Saranac Lake, NY. Paddlers start at the picturesque Ampersand Bay Resort on Lower Saranac Lake and finish at the state boat launch on Lake Flower in downtown Saranac Lake.

The 10.5 mile flatwater races start at 11:00 a.m. at Ampersand Bay Resort on Lower Saranac Lake. Paddlers go southwest to Bluff Island, where they turn south into the Saranac River. Competitors then follow the river to the Lower Locks, where there is a short carry to Oseetah Lake. Paddlers then cross the lake to the islands in the northwest. The race ends on Lake Flower in the Village of Saranac Lake.
Day of registration will take place from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. at Ampersand Bay Resort.
