The Lake Placid 2023 FISU World University Games scored in Saranac Lake!

The world came to Saranac Lake! Lake Placid was the proud host of the 2023 FISU World University Games, however, Saranac Lake and surrounding regions also hosted events across the Adirondacks. The 2023 FISU World University Games took place January 12-22 and was the largest gathering of college athletes on the planet!

Saranac Lake proudly hosted the curling portion of the Games at the Saranac Lake Civic Center. In preparation for the Games, Saranac Lake worked hard to perfect its venues and surrounding lodging to enhance the experience of visitors and athletes alike. In anticipation of this major global event, the Saranac Lake Civic Center was upgraded to a state-of-the-art facility, and proved to be an ideal venue to host 13 delegations in intense competition.
