108 Sun Salutations - Summer Solstice Yoga Class
About
The number 108 is considered sacred in many cultures. Practicing 108 Sun Salutations on the Summer Solstice is a tradition in yoga and other spiritual circles to honor the changing of the seasons. The Summer Solstice marks the longest day of the year, when energy and light peak. Sun salutations can be an offering to the sun and our vital connection to it, while remembering and harnessing its power. It’s a way to honor the divine, and engage in a physically and mentally challenging practice that has great potential for transformation and renewal.
Join us at the Wild Rose yoga studio for a short discussion diving deeper into the contemplative practices around this traditional, devotional practice, followed by the breath, asana, and mantra practice of 108 sun salutations
