Floodwood Road to Tupper Lake

Effective April 1, the trail from Floodwood Road, Santa Clara, to Tupper Lake is closed to all users until construction is complete in fall 2025. This section is an active construction zone until this notice is lifted.

Saranac Lake Area Closure

There is active construction from May 1 through early June, blocking off a section of the trail from McKenzie Brook area near North Country Community College to south to Fowler’s Crossing adjacent to the village’s paved trail towards the Aldi’s business area. 

This portion of the trail is closed to all use due to active construction effective May 1 through at least early June. Crews are removing culvert pipes, installing a bridge, additional rail fencing, and more. Heavy machines and equipment will be operating during this time. Please respect all notices and barricades and stay off of this portion of the trail.

Ray Brook Area Closure

There is active construction form May 19 through May 23, 2025, blocking off a section of the trail from Fowler’s Crossing (Route 86) to the parking area on Ray Brook Road.This portion of the trail is closed to all use due to active construction effective May 19 through May 23, 2025. Crews are replacing a culvert pipe and adding insulation to the trail where a steam pipe is located under the trail. Heavy machines and equipment will be operating during this time. Please respect all notices and barricades and stay off of this portion of the trail.
