Naturally beautiful
In Saranac Lake, we take the outdoors seriously, so if you're looking for endless options to get outside this winter, you've come to the right place.
Set out on winter adventures!
In Saranac Lake, the outdoors are so close to downtown that you can be on the snowy trails and in the mountains in minutes! Whether you're into hiking, fat-tire biking, or cross-country skiing, winter time offers endless recreation opportunities. Head to Mount Pisgah, where you can practice your tricks on skis or snowboarding, or take on your own tubing race. Want to get into the mountains? See what the Saranac Lake 6er peaks have to offer, from firetowers and open summits to rare ice-covered visuals that only a winter hike can bring. Don't forget about the Adirondack Rail Trail, and connect with our neighboring communities by snowmobile, ski, or snowshoe!
For laid-back adventures, wander the forested paths at Dewey Mountain Recreation Center or experience the tranquility of the Paul Smith’s VIC, where the tranquil quiet of winter forests will draw you in.

Leave No Trace and Love Your ADK
The magic of the Adirondacks is the result of previous generations taking a long view and protecting the mountains, lakes, and rivers within the Blue Line. That tradition continues today as we support and encourage everyone to practice Leave No Trace ethics, which help protect the lands and waters of the Adirondacks.
