Our Floodwood Outpost is ideally situated on Floodwood Road with easy access to hiking, biking, running, swimming and paddling options.
We are a family-owned general store selling outdoor gear, maps & books, food & drinks, and other last-minute items for your outdoor recreation. We offer gear rentals, guided naturalist outings, as well as hiking, biking, and paddling resources.
We are on the portage between the St. Regis Canoe Area and the Saranac Lakes Wild Forest. We are also at the crossroads of Floodwood Road and the Adirondack Rail Trail. We are ideally located for multi-sport activities including paddling, biking, running, swimming, and hiking. There are numerous trails nearby including Floodwood Mountain and Long Pond Mountain (accessed with an easy paddle to the trailhead on Long Pond).
The Floodwood Outpost is off the grid and runs largely by solar panels.
