Join this insightful workshop where participants will explore traditional and modern after-death care practices. The morning session provides valuable information, and the afternoon offers an interactive, hands-on demonstration.
Morning Session (10 AM - 12 PM):
- History and context of traditional and modern after-death care practices
- New York State after-death care rights and options
- Community storytelling and experiential knowledge
- Q&A session
Afternoon Hands-on Demonstration (12:30 PM - 3 PM):
- Creating a vigil environment
- Body care: washing, cooling, and shrouding
- Incorporating ceremony and healing opportunities
Note: If you wish to attend the afternoon session, please attend the morning session and pack a lunch.
