Meet the Maker - Bent Cat Boats

Bob Buehrer is a retired industrial machine technician from Ohio who, after years of vacationing in the Adirondacks, decided with his wife to make the region his permanent home.

For the past fifteen years, Bob has been building strip-built boats and has developed several refined designs. His specialty is ultra-lightweight pack boats, which he crafts to weigh around 25 pounds. The primary wood used is lightweight cedar, accented with cherry, black walnut, oak, and mahogany for both beauty and strength.

His company, Bent Cat Boats, reflects his dedication to craftsmanship and attention to detail.
