Camping
To truly experience the Adirondacks

Notice: All state-run campgrounds are currently closed to overnight visitors, through May 31, 2020. This measure is in effect to help control the spread of the novel coronavirus. Campers with reservations through May 31 will receive refunds for their stay. In addition, the state campgrounds are not currently taking new reservations. This will be reviewed by the state Department of Environmental Conservation and updates will be shared as soon as possible.

Get out there and live in it

There are so many joys in camping. The star-filled sky! The roaring fire! The roasted marshmallows! And the best part is, camping is a great way to extend a vacation budget and make one-of-a-kind family memories.

Unrivaled camping options

Would you like your own island that can only be reached by boat? We can do that! Look for Saranac Lake Islands campsites on Lower and Middle Saranac.

Would you like a site that also has showers, canoe rentals, and children’s activities? We can do that too. Visit the state-operated campgrounds which include nearby Fish Creek, Rollins Pond, Buck Pond, and Meadowbrook.

Your base camp

Outdoor recreation is a big part of an Adirondack camping experience. When you're here it's easy to find a place to swim, canoe, boat, hike, and bike. Our camping offers a wild experience that is still not far from many great Saranac Lake attractions.

Leave No Trace

The magic of the Adirondacks is the result of previous generations taking a long view and protecting the mountains, lakes, and rivers within the Blue Line. That tradition continues today as we support and encourage everyone to practice Leave No Trace ethics, which help protect the lands and waters of the Adirondacks.

Leave No Trace Seven Principles
