Ready to roll? Saranac Lake is embracing pedal power with a community biking initiative that invites riders of all ages and experience levels to explore the area together. From scenic loops around town to guided rides on the Adirondack Rail Trail, these community rides are designed to be fun, social, and accessible. Partnering with organizations like Bike Adirondacks and the Village of Saranac Lake, the initiative aims to connect people to local events, outdoor spaces, and each other—one ride at a time.
Community bike rides
The Saranac Lake Community Ride is a free, fun, and family-friendly weekly group ride through the scenic streets of the village. Open to all ages and experience levels, this relaxed community ride invites locals and visitors alike to hop on their bikes and enjoy a no-pressure pedal alongside friends, neighbors, and new faces.
This ride takes place every Wednesday at 6 p.m. from July 9 through August 6, 2025, starting at Riverside Park. Riders will check in, sign a quick waiver, and meet their friendly ride leaders, easily spotted in bright Community Ride t-shirts, before heading out on clearly planned, no-drop routes designed for all experience levels. Stick around after the ride for Music on the Green, a free live concert series at Riverside Park from 7–9 p.m., featuring local and regional performers.
