Summer in Saranac Lake brings with it events to keep everyone busy. From free outdoor concerts to our much-loved Pendragon Theatre productions, there's something for everyone throughout the season.

engage in history

The rich heritage of the Saranac Lake region is celebrated during the summer season. One very interesting option is the Great Camp Tours being offered regularly at White Pine Camp in Paul Smiths. White Pine Camp is a lodging property open to the public with a history dating to the late 1800's. Known for having hosted many celebrities and dignitaries, it is best known as being the "remote" White House for President Calvin Coolidge during the summer of 1926. Tours take place at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Wenesday and Saturday through the end of August.

free music on the green

Each Wednesday through the middle of August join the crowd at the Berkeley Green right in the middle of Saranac Lake for the free Downtown Summer Concert Series. A different musical group performs each week. The whole town seems to come out on Wednesdays to enjoy groups such as Crackin' Foxy, Roy Hurd, Split Rock, Barn Cats and much more great local talent.  Join in when you're in town!

Independence day

Not tobe missed is Independence Day weekend, which is full of fun events, beginning with the 4th of July Kiddie Parade on Main Street in the morning of July 4th and fireworks taking center stage in the evening. On Saturday the Runabout Rendezvous is celebrating it's 7th year. Riverside Park waterfront will be filled with classic wooden boats and runabouts for this celebration of all things wood that float! In conjunction with the Adirondack Rocking Festival and the Farmers' Market, Riverside Park will be rocking (quite literally) on Saturday. There are art exhibits, events at the nearby Wild Center and many other Independence Day festivities over the weekend.

farmers markets

Saturdays are a popular day in Saranac Lake when the Saranac Lake Village Farmers' Market sets up in Riverside Park from 9 am to 2 pm each week until mid-October. This is one of the largest markets in the region, which explains why the crowds are always so large. Having expanded in recent years to much more than produce, this market offers everything from bread, honey, cheeses, meats, eggs and flowers, plus art and craft items. You'll be amazed at the variety, so stop by.

adirondack theatre

Pendragon Theatre is Saranac Lake's professional stage theatre, offering a wide variety of productions throughout the entiere year. It's summer season this year is filled with classics. Here are just a few of the more familiar presentations.

  • Harvey - July 31 - August 7
  • Man of La Mancha - July 10 - July 26
  • Death of a Salesman - August 28 - September 13

This is just  sampling of the Pendragon calendar. Make sure you check our events calendar for more complete information.
